Mission and Vision

The Centre for Teaching and Learning Support of the University of West Attica is committed to upholding international standards and adopting best practices from other higher education institutions with similar structures. Our primary mission is to enhance the quality of teaching through six distinct actions:

Register of Collaborating Faculty Members

To enhance its diverse range of specialized activities, the Centre endeavors to establish a comprehensive registry of collaborating faculty members hailing from Greece and abroad. These esteemed individuals possess expertise in Teaching and Learning, as well as a profound understanding of the application of Digital Technology in Higher Education.

Establishment of a Multipliers Group

By harnessing the collective expertise and knowledge of esteemed faculty, the Multipliers Group will facilitate the seamless flow of information, ensuring that the Centre’s initiatives and achievements are widely recognized and appreciated. The Multipliers Group is envisioned as a vibrant community of academics, encompassing individuals from all levels and disciplines. This diverse collective will serve as a platform for the exchange of best practices, enabling members to act as catalysts for positive change within their departments and throughout the entire university.

Educational Learning Circles

The Educational Learning Circles focus on the development and execution of comprehensive training programs, both in-person and remotely, for the entire educational community of the University. These programs are particularly beneficial for newly appointed members. In order to ensure the utmost quality of training, we will partner with experts in University Pedagogy and Educational Technologies, both domestically and internationally. Their involvement will greatly contribute to the design and implementation of these training activities.

Digitization Service

The Digitization Service is addressed to all teaching staff who are interested in incorporating digital technology into their instructional design and development of technologically enriched learning activities. The primary objective of this service is to provide support for the design and implementation of technology-enhanced courses.

CTL Repository

This initiative aims to develop exemplary educational content in the form of learning objects that will be accessible to the entire educational community of the University. Leveraging the University’s extensive experience from previous projects, such as the open courses project, as well as the expertise of external partners and internationally recognized best practices from similar institutions abroad, we will create a model for educational best practices. This action is intended for all teaching staff of the University who currently possess or aspire to develop content that can serve as a benchmark for good practices and be shared with the entire educational community.

Awareness and Promotion

Our Centre actively engages in various publicity initiatives to effectively inform, raise awareness, and promote its valuable work. Our primary objectives include:

  • Facilitating enhanced communication and cooperation among the University’s teaching staff. We achieve this by organizing regular meetings where educators can exchange valuable insights, best practices, and address any challenges encountered in their teaching endeavors.

  • Fostering the development of innovative initiatives and synergies with corresponding structures within other esteemed higher education institutions across the country. Additionally, we seek to establish fruitful collaborations with institutes or organizations engaged in similar activities, both in Greece and abroad.

  • Encouraging the exchange of knowledge and providing the widest possible exposure to new, international trends in teaching and learning. To achieve this, our team of experts collaborates closely with esteemed members of the academic staff from foreign universities. This collaboration aims to promote mobility to and from foreign institutions, ensuring a rich and diverse educational experience for everyone involved.

By actively pursuing these objectives, we strive to create a dynamic and inclusive environment that fosters continuous growth and development within the academic community.
